Bespoke Illustrations
FOREAL were commissioned by Xbox Design Lab to create illustrative posters to accompany bespoke Xbox controllers – some of which were designed by Xbox users, and some by various influencers such as design collaboratives Craig & Karl and Basso & Brooke.
FOREAL were briefed about the stories behind the various controller designs and encouraged to create images to accompany them. Each illustration centers on an elevated controller which is surrounded circularly by repeated images which portray FOREAL’s interpretations of each design.
The image above plays on the circular design to illustrate the initiative behind the Xbox Design Lab. It depicts stripped down controllers with various colour options for the separate components. Compared with the illustrations below, this image could be likened to a blank canvas, ready to create what follows.
